The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act applies to public entities and specific types of organizations.

The Public Interest Commissioner CAN investigate wrongdoing occurring within any of the following. Click on the link below for the type of organization your concern pertains to:

Alberta Government Ministry

Agency, Board or Commission

Charter School

Continuing Care Home

Health Authority or Provincial Health Agency

Office of a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA)

Office of the Legislature

Office of the Premier or a Minister

Post-secondary Institution

Private School

Provincial Corporation or Public Agency

School Division or Regional School Authority

The Public Interest Commissioner CANNOT investigate complaints pertaining to the following types of organizations; however, you may click on the link below for details on other authorities that may be able to address your concern:

City, Town or Other Municipality

Daycare

Federal Government

Member of Parliament of Canada (MP)

Municipal Police Department

Private Career College

Private Company or Business
